  • The hologram of a Jjaro diplomat identifying itself as Ryu-Toth interrupted a senior briefing in the Pentagon to inform the US President and five of his senior military staff that a sleeping "God" beneath the ancient pyramid in the Yucatan Peninsula was awakening, threatening to destroy the entire planet, and that humanity had until May 13th to prevent it.[1]

  • US Special Forces deployed to the Yucatan Peninsula to detonate a nuclear device beneath the pyramid.[1]
  • The team's parachutes failed to deploy, with only Sergeant Eddings surviving to complete the mission.[1]

May 13th[edit]

  • Sergeant Eddings successfully detonated the nuclear device, preventing the dreaming God's awakening, and extracted from the pyramid with ancient alien artifacts. These artifacts would disappear from records shortly after.[1]

  • Runner operations began. Six corporations vied for control of Tau Ceti's data and resources through independently contracted Runners.
  • A Runner's perception matrix was damaged during transfer to Tau Ceti IV and they narrowly escape a UESC lockdown event and potential elimination at the hands of Commander Orion.[15]
  • UESC officers under the command of Orion conducted operations in Outpost searching for an unknown target.[27]
  • Runners recovered a Temporal Fragment near the Anomaly in Dire Marsh.[28]
  • The work of a contracted Runner inspired Traxus to pivot its corporate objectives.
  • Marathon colony-side terminals began to come online, with messages from Durandal tempting Runners to board the Marathon and uncover its secrets. Some Runners organized mass alignment runs between terminal pairs, serving to bring the Marathon's camera systems back online.[29]
