Events[edit]
2893[edit]
- UESC reconnaissance satellites arrived in Tau Ceti.
- Runner and UESC operations in Tau Ceti began. Six Earth-based factions vied for control of Tau Ceti's data and resources through independently contracted Runners.
- Two UESC operations including three ARS squads attempted to board the Marathon after identifying irregular systems activity in Cryo Archive. All were lost due to jump scramble.[1]
- Operation: First Mile - The UESC boarded the Marathon at Cryo Archive after identifying it as the only zone with an anti-jump scramble workaround. Their objectives were to scout the zone, make detailed reports on its spaces and threats, secure a jump signal, and establish a security presence.[1]
- Operation Winter Walk - The UESC accessed and linked maps of the local area while exploring the zone on foot. An active, unknown signal was detected in the zone's systems and scramble pattern, but could not be identified. The UESC determined that much of the damage observed in the form of cryo leakage was likely more recent than the contact event.[2] A UESC biomata designated PRI: 0109 encountered Subject01 in Vault 7, experiencing critical systems failure and emergency eject.[3] PRI: 0109 was recalled from service until approved for continued field deployment.[4]
- Operation: Igloo - The UESC established defensive position in Cryo Archive, making efforts to identify and track Subject01, with the objective of ultimately capturing or containing it.[4]
- Operation: Primetime - The UESC made further efforts to breach Vault 7 to capture or contain Subject01, but the outcome was a full operational loss. Two ARS squads pushed Subject01 ahead of UESC biomat team, but it focused all of its attention on the operatives, forcing them to eject. At the last minute, PRI: 0121 flooded Vault 7 with bots to secure their escape.[5]
FIRST STEP[edit]
- A Runner's perception matrix was damaged during transfer to Tau Ceti IV and they narrowly escape a UESC data blockade and potential elimination at the hands of Commander Orion.[6]
- UESC officers under the command of Orion conducted operations in Outpost searching for an unknown target.[7]
- The work of a contracted Runner inspired Traxus to pivot its corporate objectives.
- Marathon colony-side terminals began to come online, with messages from Durandal tempting Runners to board the Marathon and uncover its secrets. Some Runners organized mass alignment runs between terminal pairs, serving to bring the Marathon's camera systems back online.[8]
- Runners boarded the Marathon.[9]
- Runners unlocked Vaults 1-6, extracting with six AI Subroutines.
- Runners encountered and defeated Subject01 in Cryo Archive aboard the Marathon.
- After analyzing their activity on Tau Ceti IV, CyberAcme introduced the C.A.R.R.I program as a means of improving Runner efficiency.[10][11]
A UESC Rocket Drone bombarding Runners in Dire Marsh.
- Orion escalated UESC aggression against unauthorized Runners on Tau Ceti IV, deploying more Wardens across contested zones, increasing dropship patrols to Perimeter and UESC Rocket Drones to Dire Marsh.[12]
