Cryo Archive is a zone in the Tau Ceti system.
Overview[edit]
Cryo Archive is unlocked after reaching level 25. Entry into Cryo Archive requires a total loadout value of 5,000 credits or more. Use of the Rook frame is not permitted on Cryo Archive.
Security Clearance[edit]
Unique to the map, Runner teams have a security clearance level, which can be increased up to 5 times. Higher clearance levels grant access to more terminals and doors across the zone.
Reaching the next clearance level requires more points than the previous. Points can be earned by:
- Holding a Security Tag increases the team's clearance level by 1 point. Security Tags can be found as loot across all of Cryo Archive, but are most commonly dropped by enemy UESC units, especially UESC Commander units.
- Hacking a security monitor, which permanently adds multiple points to the team's security clearance level.
Exfil[edit]
With level 3 clearance or higher, an Exfil Station terminal can be interacted with to spawn an Exfil in one of the corners of the map. The map's Final Exfil spawns in a random location, revealed only to Runner teams with security clearance level 5.
Scanners[edit]
Scanner terminals throughout Cryo Archive can be interacted with, revealing the location of nearby Vault batteries and Exfil Station terminals on the Runner's map. The efficiency of this scan is increased with a higher security clearance level.
Vaults[edit]

6 Vaults can be found across Cryo Archive. To be opened, each Vault requires their respective key, as well as a unique set of extra requirements. Once opened, a small puzzle must be solved inside in order to open the loot room within.
In addition to high value loot, each Vault also contains their respective AI Subroutine item. If a Runner exfils holding an AI Subroutine, their teammates receive a copy of the item as well. Collecting all 6 AI Subroutines grants permanent access to the Compiler boss fight for future runs.
Batteries[edit]
All vaults must be powered by Batteries before opening. Vault power requires 8 batteries to function, but often starts pre-filled with 3-5 batteries. Batteries emit a slight hum when on the ground, and can be located faster with the help of Scanner terminals. They can be inserted one by one into the vault's Battery reserves by pressing the interact button on it.
Cryo Coolant[edit]
Some vaults require a replacement Cryo Coolant to be installed before opening. Empty Cryo Coolant canisters can be most easily found in the frigid area found at the bottom of the Preservation region.
Empty Cryo Coolant canisters must be filled at a station. A refill station can be found in the frigid pit at the bottom of the Panopticon sub-region. A second refill station exists in the Staging region, but requires a Battery before it can be used.
Filled Cryo Coolant canisters can be inserted beside a Vault's battery reserves by pressing the interact button on the vacant coolant socket.
Required Credentials[edit]

In addition to both power and cooling, Vaults 3-6 require specific credentials before opening, unique to each vault.
