Description[edit]
Pfhor troopers are lanky, slim, grey skinned humanoid aliens with three red eyes and a tail-like structure in the back of their heads; they wear sturdier armour than the Pfhor Fighter, which includes a glass dome helmet and a gas mask underneath. They wear decorative drapes hanging on the waist, similar to those of the Pfhor Fighter and the Pfhor Hunter. Despite the similar outfits to the Fighters, Troopers are vacuum enabled. This enemy type is commonly found across the trilogy, with consistent ranks, health and attacks; the only exception is in Marathon Infinity, with the Guard rank.[1]
Gameplay[edit]
They use two attacks, with the frequency of each one depending on the rank. Troopers have Minor and Major variants, both using a ballistic rifle with incorporated grenade launcher. The Trooper major shoots longer bursts and makes use of the grenade launcher more often. The main difference between ranks and variants is the attack frequency and the hitpoints they have.
The Troopers pose a significant threat to players on the early stages of the games, where low ammo or big groups of them can pose a challenge.
Trivia[edit]
Despite the use of different kinds of armour, and having a sealed helmet, they use the same gas mask as the fighters.
