History[edit]

It is believed that Void was the original Assassin personality series, modeled off of a nameless Runner: one of the first active camo test subjects from early UESC Spec Ops invisibility prototyping. Attempts to merge neural transference with invisibility resulted in near total memory loss, followed by complete loss of self. The Void series was never officially released, but rather discovered in old neural coding and repurposed into a personality series that modern Assassins use in tribute to this unknown victim.[1]
When Runners recovered old research from the earliest days of neural transference development, they found records of 13 test subjects whose minds were fractured into madness by the unproven technology, each code-named by later researchers according to different mythical demons. Azazel was the name of one, adopted by Assassins who utilized a unique and haunting shell style.[3]
Assassin models were utilized heavily during the corporate cold war on Tau Ceti IV in 2893.[4]
