Gameplay[edit]

Unlike most other weapons, the Ares RG is a ballistic weapon that requires charging before firing. By holding down the Fire key, the weapon begins charging up its projectile, indicated by a gauge filling up near the top of the weapon's optic. After 1.25 seconds of charging, the weapon is sufficiently charged, and can be fired by releasing the Fire key. Alternatively, the wielder can release the charge without firing by swapping weapons after the charge is built.

Similar to sniper rifle-class weapons, the Ares RG has high damage potential and high accuracy. A single shot to the body can eliminate UESC Recruits and down Runners without shield implants, and a headshot comes just shy of downing a Runner with a Deluxe shield implant. Furthermore, its ADS accuracy is unparalleled- any shot made in ADS will always hit where the crosshair is located, even while moving. However, it lacks the range and the ability to quickly fire that most sniper rifles have, making it more suited to taking out unaware targets at mid-to-long range.

The Ares RG can be equipped with Chip, Generator, and certain proprietary Magazine mods.
