Joy, also known as Jo_0309421v4.69 was one the eight colony AIs that were a part of Project Marathon.[1]

In a memo to the members of the Science and Engineering Action Group, Bernhard Strauss described that Joy's function was to be the Colony AI around defense and training.[1]

Joy was described by Bernhard Strauss as "resilient; optimistic; patient."[1]
