The neural sync is a complex technological process which allows a digitized consciousness to be transferred between a liminal buffer and a neural housing using an eject/catch system. What this essentially does is enable mind-transference and allow a form of compromised immortality by allowing a user to transfer their consciousness between multiple biosynthetic bodies, at the risk of memory degradation, loss of personality, and deletion.

History[edit]
On Tau Ceti IV, the earliest Runners to deploy to the surface found that a combination of atmospheric disruption and anomalous energy patterns limited the effectiveness of neural sync housing, shortening the window in which a Runner could effectively operate, and requiring them to eject after just a short time planetside.[1]
